President Award!!!

The 2017 Baseball Alberta Presidents Award has been given to Kurtus Millar! This award is presented each year to a Board Member selected by the President of Baseball Alberta for outstanding service to Baseball Alberta.
Kurtus was born in Yellowknife NWT in 1978. He lived in Peace River where he began his baseball career playing T-ball and continued with the Peace River Minor Baseball Association until Peewee. Good fortune would bring him to St Albert to begin his SAMBA career with the Peewee AAA team.
Kurtus would continue within the AAA ranks through Bantam and Midget.

Kurtus played two years with Team Alberta and represented our province in two Canada Cups. Kurtus then played for the Division 1 Merced Blue Devils in California.

His journey would then bring him back to St. Albert where he would play with the Jr. Tigers from 1998-2000. In 2001 through 2011 Kurtus played and coached the Sr Tigers.

• 2002 Sr AAA National Championship
• Tigers MVP 2005
• President St Albert Tigers 2013+2014

Kurtus had the privilege to have competed in 11 National Championships during his career Peewee to Sr AAA. In 2013, he played Sr Nationals with Tiger Alumni and won Gold in 2013.

In 2015, Kurtus was voted in as the President of SAMBA, where he remains to this day. St Albert is incredibly fortunate to have him and his incredible experience to help shape the next generation of baseball players within this great city.
